Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using DoNotContact.net ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

Service Description

DoNotContact.net is a subscription-based suppression list service that:

  • Helps reduce unwanted political communications
  • Shares only hashed (anonymized) versions of your contact information
  • Operates with strict data minimization and privacy-first principles
  • Provides transparency in how your data is used

Authorization to Act as Agent

Legal Authorization

By using DoNotContact.net, you appoint and authorize us to act as your agent for the limited purpose of sending opt-out requests to political campaigns and other senders on your behalf under federal laws, including the CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. § 7704) and TCPA (47 U.S.C. § 227). You acknowledge that we facilitate these requests using anonymized identifiers to protect your privacy, and compliance by recipients depends on their legal obligations.

Privacy-First Commitment

Privacy-First Design

We minimize personal data storage through cryptographic hashing. In our systems, we store only irreversible hashes of your contact information that allow campaigns to identify and remove you from their lists without ever revealing your actual contact details. While payment processing requires your contact information to be stored with Stripe (our secure payment processor), our core suppression service is designed to protect your privacy through advanced cryptographic techniques.

Data Minimization

  • We use cryptographic hashing to store only irreversible hashes of your email addresses and phone numbers in our suppression systems
  • We cannot reverse-engineer these hashes to reveal your actual contact information
  • We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our suppression list service
  • Payment processing data is handled separately by Stripe according to industry standards

Transparency

  • Secure customer dashboard for account management
  • Full data access available through secure verification process
  • Clear documentation of all data sharing practices

Data Sharing with Campaigns

What We Share

  • What we share: Only hashed identifiers (email/phone hashes)
  • Purpose: To perform the suppression service you hired us for
  • Business necessity: Data sharing is essential to provide the service you subscribed to

Comprehensive Data Sharing Framework

We share your hashed identifiers through three distinct channels:

1. Core Service: Direct sharing with political campaigns as requested by you to perform the suppression service you paid for

2. Compliance Alliance (Outbound): Enhanced suppression coverage through our network of approved campaigns, vendors, and list companies

3. Compliance Alliance (Inbound): Alliance members share anonymized deliverability data back to us for service quality improvement and deliverability scoring

All data sharing uses only SHA-256 hashed identifiers - your actual contact information remains completely private.

Compliance Alliance Member Requirements

Political campaigns, marketing vendors, and list rental companies that join our Compliance Alliance agree to:

  • Use data ONLY for suppression purposes
  • NOT use data for targeting, marketing, or voter outreach
  • NOT attempt to reverse-engineer or decrypt hash values
  • Maintain appropriate security measures for data protection
  • Delete data upon campaign conclusion or as requested
  • Share anonymized deliverability data (bounces, spam complaints) back to Alliance for service improvement
  • Participate in bidirectional data sharing to enhance ecosystem-wide suppression effectiveness

Note: These requirements apply only to campaigns that register with our service and use our APIs. We cannot control how campaigns that do not use our service handle suppression requests.
